Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

I had a 7 year background check performed on me. Two felonies from 1998 were sent to my prospective employer. is this legal?

Yes, there is no law prohibiting an employer from going back as far as it wishes in conducting a criminal background check. In addition, there would be no other restriction if another company conducted the search on the employer's behalf.
