Re: Dog Bites

The old rule used to be that every dog got one free bite, on the theory that he had to bite someone before one knew it was a vicious dog. That was tort law.

When a dog is to be destroyed, however, is a matter usually of local city animal ordinances. Call the animal control officers in the city or county where you reside. It may be a division within the local police department or sheriff's department. They will let you know what their rules are.
