Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota

traffic violation

i was driving 2 blocks and i had my license suspended. and the cop that followed me was because me roommate threw a wrapper out of the passenger window. the cop came up after my car was in park, shut off, and my keys were out of the ignition. the cops pulled up without their lights or sirens on before i got out of my car and when i got out of my car they wrote me a ticket for driving after revokation i had 5 days before i could get my license back. is that a legal ticket for them to write if they didn't pull me over.

I am afraid that the stop may occur after your vehicle is already parked. That would not invalidate the ticket. However, thre are some questions as to whether the oficer could proceed to check your license when the stop was based on littering by the passenger. It would seem that the inquiry may have gone beyond what was proper and, as a result, provides a challenge to the ticket.
