Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

Financial Liabilities for a Missing Spouse

My daughter's husband abandoned her and their baby a little over seven months ago. My question is ''If her husband makes any new bills/debts will my daughter be held liable for their payments?'' Is there a way that she can legally not be responsible for any new bills/debts that he may cause in the future until she can divorce him?

Re: Financial Liabilities for a Missing Spouse

She needs to notify the husband by letter that he has no authority to obligate her for any debt and she needs to notify all her lenders and credit card companies that he has no authority to obligate her for any debts. The court should not hold her responsibile for any debts incurred by her husband after the separation unless the Court decides to do that because of some balancing of equities.
