medical and child support

Pls tell me what this

means..Husband and wife agree to maintain in full force and effect a major med and hosp. ins policy for the benefit of the parties minor children with proof of said ins. made available to each party within a reasonable time after request. Husband & wife further agree to each pay 1/2 of all med, hosp. pharmaceutical, dental and optical exp. which shall not be covered by the aforesaid ins. policy.

This sounds like it comes from a do-it-yourself divorce. One party or the other should be responsible to provide the health insurance coverage for the minor children. The way it is currently worded, I can envision children without any coverage and both parents pointing fingers at each other. The remainder that is not covered by insurance is usually split 50/50, so I don�t see a problem there. Please seek the advice of a local attorney.
