Monthly Bill Liability

If in the Divorce Agreement, it is written that a party is responsible for a bill, even though the bill is financed int the other party's name is the first said party liable?

Assuming there is an underlying contract, the creditor will look to the party that it has the agreement with to collect the debt. If another party has been ordered by the court to pay this bill, and he/she does not pay, that person is in contempt of the court�s order.

The party in whose name the debt is financed is liable on the debt until it is either paid or the creditor releases the debtor. Best to have the other party refinance the debt in their own name.
