Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Missouri

I have 2 judgements from credit cards that have been placed on my house. I'm also being contacted by a collector with another credit card that I'm afraid is going to sue me. Would filing bankruptcy discharge the judgements. And, should I go ahead and pay some to the collector of the other card so they wont sue me until I have the chance to file bankruptcy? I feel very ashamed for not being able to pay these debts but, I was in a business with family and got stuck with it when the business went under. I was the one that had good credit at the time. I have equity in my house but the bank won't let me borrow against it because of my credit score being so low as a result of all of this.

It may be to your advantage to pay the collector for the other credit carde account. But maybe not. This is good question to ask of the attorney that you consider filing bankruptcy for you. If they do it right, they may also be able to get the judgment lines released from your home.

Good luck
