Legal Question in Business Law in Missouri

Dates of relocation agreement.

I'd like to know the actual time remaining on my relocation agreement with my current employer.

I relocated to Missouri in June of 2005 and began working for my companies local office on that offices payroll. I signed the actual relocation agreement in January of 2006 after my wife finished grad school and moved to Missouri and we knew the full amount of our relocation cost.

Is my relocation agreement valid from June 2005 to June 2007, or January 2006 to January 2008 ?

Re: Dates of relocation agreement.

This is one of those tough questions to answer without looking at the terms of the agreement. Normally one would expect that the relocation agreement would bind starting on the date of employment rather than on the date of signature, but much of that depends on what language is used in the agreement. If the agreement is for two years, I would assume (without reading the agreement) that the two years would run from the date of employment, unless there is something in the agreement that specifies another date. For example, some agreements provide they begin running on the date the employee completes his probationary period.

You should probably take the signed agreement to an attorney and have him read it and give you an opinion.

Good luck,
