Legal Question in Technology Law in Missouri

posting photos on internet for display only

I take photos of a youth sports organization and a local private high school. We want to post the photos of the activities on the internet for viewing purposes only. The question has come up of do we have to get releases for each person in the photo or since they are up for viewing of the activities only can we post the photo without names attached without needing a release. These photos would be posted for the participants and their families to enjoy, there is no intention of selling the photos.

I guess you could say in a round about way they could be seen as promotions because they would be showing off the activities of the organization but the main focus would be for the enjoyment of the participants and their family.

If any person ever complained we would be willing to take down any photos they requested.

Re: posting photos on internet for display only

Are the photos avail to anyone online?

Are the subjects of the photos minors?

You DEFINITELY need parental permission to post online.
