someone caused 3,300 dollars worth of damage to my vehicle with a knife and i've pressed charges how long do you think the defendant will spend in jail? even though it was there first offense

If this is the first conviction for this defendant (assuming they are convicted) they wll not likely do any jail time. You should contact the court and the prosecutir, to request that any part ot paid for my your insurer, be made restitution as prt of any plea or sentencing.
