I would need to know more facts in order to give you reliable advice. Usually, an attorney can help with something like this by reaching a plea bargain deal with the prosecutor. The minor will have to do some community service and/or pay restitution. If you do not have attorney help you, then your child will most likely be found guilty and have to pay a fine, restitution, do community service and even face time incarerated at a juvenile detention facility.

Please let me know if you would like to discuss further.

Re: Credit Card Fraud $500

First we would need to know exactly how old the person who did this is, and then we could give an opinion as to whether that person might be charged with a crime as an adult or this would be handled within the juvenile court system. The differences are huge. If charged as an adult, the person could be facing a felony with possible punishment ranging from a day to years incarcerated and fines from a dollar to thousands of dollars. The conviction on the person's criminal record would cause numerous negative consequences later in that person's life if that person took a conviction. If, due to that person's age, the matter is handled in the juvenile court, the court will probably take jurisdiction over the child and then determine how best to proceed. The options range from taking the child into custody for a period of time, to releasing the child back to the parents with various conditions of probation attached, including restitution among other requirements. Whoever is involved in this situation should immediately hire an attorney. If you do not already have an attorney I should be able to help you.
