Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
I recently was involved in a car accident were I was the passenger. It was late at night in an area I didn't know. The accident wasn't serious and didn't involve onother car or property so the driver and I left the car on the side of the road and started walking in the direction we thought a gas station would be. We came across a fence and instead of going back we climbed the fence and kept heading in the direction we were going. Well the fence we climbed happened to be the boundary of a connaco Phillips oil refinery. I don't remember seeing a sign even though I'm sure there was. Anyway a security guard saw us and asked us to go to him we didn't try to run we did what he said. He called the police and I was charged with criminal trespassing. Is this a serious crime? Will it show up on my criminal record? And do I need to get a lawyer??

You should get counsel to protect your interests in this case. A conviction on this charge could prevent you from getting some jobs in the future.
Good luck
