Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

shopplifting

I was arrested for shoplifting. I was a misunderstanding and would not let me explain. I forgot some diapers in the bottom of the cart and walked out without paying. I offered to pay because I just for got. It was not on purpose. The lady was really rude.I have a bunch of questions but this will have to do. I was under the understanding you had to the leave the store with the merchandise befor it is considered shoplifting and it had to be hidden or concealed. THe arresting cop also didn't read me my rights when i was arrest. Is there anything I can possible do about the. I have 3 kids and don;t want them to think there mother is s thief. If you can help thanks for your time. TJH

Re: shopplifting

I have handled hundreds of similar cases over the last thirty years, and I can assure you that an attorney can help you get through this without a conviction being entered on your record, and hopefully without anyone else learning about the situation. You definitely need to hire an attoney who is experienced. If you do not already have an attorney, you may call me for a free telephone consultation. If I can not help you myself, I may be able to refer you to someone who can.
