Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

theft misdemeanor

I have a summons to court for a theft $500. I need to try to fix this because I do not want it on my background for career reasons. What are my options? I don't have anything else on my background. I was told I can either get a suspended sentence of imposition or plead guilty to a lesser misdemeanor with an attorney, which of these is the better choice and how much would the attorney fees be? Thank you

Re: theft misdemeanor

If you enter into a plea bargain under which you receive a suspended imposition of sentence, then you will not havve a conviction on your record so long as you complete probation. Attorney's fees may vary, but I would charge a retainer fee in the amount of $1500. You may call me for a consultation if you do not already have an attorney.
