contact the StL County Court clerk's office. They can tell you if the tapes are still in storage, or they may refer you to the civl / criminal records department (whichever kind of trial it was) If they are still in existence, they are probably in storage and will take a few dys to retrive. You will have to pay for a transcript. If one has already been generated, you may have to only pay for copying charges (usually about 50 cents a page). If not, you will have to pay for one of the court reporters to transcribe the tape. I do not know if they will allow you to hire an outside stenographer to make a transcript. This might cost from a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars if the trial was of significant length.

Good luck
