Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Divorce

I had a realestate buisness before I was married. Is it still mine now since I have only been married less than four years and seperated since Feb. 10,2003. Our court date is more than a month away and now she is claiming to be pregnant and wants maitenance. I can not have children and she has been pregnant for as long or longer than we have been seperated. Doe's this have any bearing on the divorce.

Re: Divorce

Yes, of course your wife being pregnant has a bearing on your divorce proceedings. In most jurisdictions, the Courts will not grant the divorce until the baby is born. In Missouri there is a legal presumption that a baby born during the marriage is the child of the husband and wife. So, it appears obvious to me that you need the very best legal representation you can get. If you do not already have legal counsel you should hire an attorney immediately. If you do already have a lawyer, you should discuss all of this with your lawyer immediately. If you would like a free telphone consultation you may call me at 314-727-2822.
