Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Duel state divorce

A ''friend'' is living in Missouri and their current spouse lives in Arizona. They are wanting to get a divorce from them and my questions are these. How long do they need to be separated before they can file and how long will they have to wait after they file before it is finalized and they can move on with their lives?

Re: Duel state divorce

In Missouri there is no legal requirement that the spouses be separated for any length of time before filing for a Dissolution of Marriage. The time it takes to go from beginning to end depends upon a wide variety of factors, but if both spouses cooperate, it could be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. Perhaps your "friend" would benefit from calling me and learning a little bit about what is involved. I would be happy to provide a brief telephone consultation for no charge.
