Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Educational Guardianship

If I have full custody of my child, my parents have educational guardianship and my child lives with them, can I request visits with him even if the child doesn't want visitation? Example: spending the weekend with my husband and I at our house or even taking the child to an activity, such as The Zoo or fishing etc.... My child is 16 years old and we were not sure due to his age that if he didn't want to visit with us then we had to follow his wishes.

Re: Educational Guardianship

You, as the parent, have the right to direct the child where to stay. However, you may be in trouble if you put the child in danger, and the granparents use it to contest custody.

Good Luck
