Without a court order of eviction or partition, if one spouse locks the other out, it could be views as abuse. That abuse could get the one that changed the locks ordered to leave and not return without a court order. Talk to the attorney handling your divorce, Before you do anything like this.

How is the property titled? In other words, who owns the property? Any owner has the right to change the locks, but this is usually not the best thing to do. If there has been abuse, you might be better off filing for an Order of Protection. You definitely need to consult with an attorney in your area. I have handled hundreds of such matters over the last 36 years, and you may contact me directly for a free telephone consultation.
