Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
My wife recently went thru a divorce, the divorce is final except for spliting up marital property. In the decree it states that the ex husband is responsible for all legal fees. She has paid her attorney arround 18,000.00 how long does her attorney have before he has to refund her money?

Usually the attorney has a written fee agreement with the client and that agreement controls. In most agreements it states that if the attorney actually collects the attorney's fees from the other side, then the attorney will refund any unearned fees to the client who paid the fees during the legal procveedings. The attorney has a reasonable time to process this refund after the money from the other side is actually collected.
