Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

Damage to a borrowed car

If someone borrows a car and drives it with the owners permission and they just have liability coverage, if the car is damaged or totalled who has to pay for the damage or take the loss? What if the damage happened while the car was parked? What about if they hit a tree because they slid on a wet road?

Re: Damage to a borrowed car

Normally the person in possession is responsible for the damage, but this can change based on the circumstances. I would recommend to you that you visit with an attorney and discuss all the facts of your case to get a more definitive answer.
