Parents are not allowed to abuse their children. What constitutes abuse is not always clear and dependent upon the specific facts of each case. I am unaware of a case in which attendence of patrol meetings and courts of honor have been held to be abusive. Forced camping or mid to high level adventure may be held to be too much, if it represents an acute risk of danger to the physical or mental health of a boy. Attendence at a supervised Summer camp probably falls in between.

It seems unlikely that a court will find that normal Scout activity is proper for an injunction, absent a unique aspect of the individual boy. My advice is to prepare a list of why you should no longer participate in scouting. sit down with your father and explain to him your reasons. If he finds that you prepared for the talk and are organized and cogent in your reasoning, he might find that you have achieved the traits that he hoped you would obtain from participation in scouting, and agree to let you stop. Take this decision seriously. Many men regret leaving scouting too early as a boy.

Good luck
