Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

My landlord has multiple accounts at his bank. He has provided us with the last four digits of the account he has set up to receive our rent payments. When we go to the bank every month to pay this they have trouble locating this account but finally "find it." We make sure to get a receipt every time we deposit rent each month. Our landlord is claiming that he can't find and does not have rent for multiple months. We have provided him with coppies of the receipts that we receive from the bank, however he is still claiming that he has not received rent deposits. We were mailed an eviction letter the 27th of last month stating:

"Eviciton Notice

Effective immediately I am terminating the lease for the residence at .............. This is because you have defaulted on the terms of the lease that we agreed to. You are required to vacate the premises, removing all belongings, and make sure the condition of the house is compliant with the terms of the lease."

Since this letter we have received multiple phone calls and stop ins from our landlord threatening to "take our shit and put it in the lawn and change the locks" on the 27th of this month. Our rent is paid, we have provided receipts, and we put up with his... visits. What can we do as renters and what can he do as landlord at this point?

This is in Missouri if that makes a difference.

Keep copies of your receipts. The landlord cannot change the locks or put your stuff out without a court order. He can't get the court order, without pricing you breached the maybe you should deliver all future rent payments directly to landlord.

Good luck
