The Voluntary Conference allows the Judge to keep an eye on pending cases. Contact an experienced workers' compensation lawyer. It would be helpful to know whether you are still receiving medical treatment, or if you require more treatment. If your treatment is complete, an experience workers' compensation lawyer can assist you in getting a final evaluation of your condition, and help you close this case.

Hi. I am a Missouri attorney that focuses my practice exclusively on workers' compensation and personal injury claims, and handles cases throughout most parts of the state.

Under the workers' compensation law in Missouri, you are entitled to 3 types of benefits when you sustain a work injury. First, you are entitled to payment of any and all treatment for injuries related to the work accident. This includes future treatment as well. Secondly, you are entitled to payment of 2/3 of your normal wages for any time missed from work due to treatment. Third, and this is very important in your case, you are entitled to a lump sum settlement if you have any permanent, or on-going, restrictions or partial disability in your hand.

There are formulas for calculating the value of your settlement, which will ultimately be based on an assessment of how much disability, also known as "permanent partial disability", that you have in your hand. Most workers' comp. attorneys are familiar with specific physicians that routinely evaluate injured workers and provide a second opinion of the level of disability. It is usually an excellent idea to obtain a second opinion, because the physicians that have been evaluating you will very often indicate a low rating of your disability. A low rating of disability will result in a much lower settlement amount. The insurance company for the employer will not tell you how much you are entitled to under the law, and there are ways to substantially increase the amount of the settlement you will receive, and make sure you get what the law allows. Hand injuries, in general, can result in significant settlements, and the amount can vary by literally thousands of dollars, depending on how your claim is presented to the insurance company.

Further detail would be necessary to determine a potential settlement range for your case. The extent of any restrictions in movement or strength of your hand is just one detail that would be highly relevant, and the type of surgery is very important as well. Furthermore, if there is any need for potential future treatment, this would have to be presented to the attorneys for the insurance company as well.

I can be reached by e-mail at [email protected]. I hope this helps. Thanks.
