Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Montana

Medical Debts

How many years after a medical debt has been acquired can it still be collected on? Is there not a 7 year statue of limitations? If one files bankruptcy can a date be set on debts that occurred before a certain time, ie anything before January of 1999?

Re: Medical Debts

There is a statute of limitations on such debts (I don't know what it is in MT). If you file bankruptcy, all such debts incurred before you file are dischargeable.
