Medical bills and Divorce

My brother is going through a divorce. about 2 years ago his wife fell and broke he leg in 3 places and they had no insurance. In Ne are those bills hers (all acounts in her name only) or could they be split between the 2 of them.

There is no automatic answer. The court will decide based on the circumstances at that time whether the debt is a marital debt that needs to be split between the parties. The presumption would be that it is since it occurred during the marriage, but any number of factors could change that answer. His attorney should be able to address the issue to the court.
