Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Nebraska

Discrimination due to criminal history

I am not the primary tenant,lessor. They,(lessees), have a no-sexual offender policy. That is understanable. I am not renting, paying a bill,etc. The lessees told me to fill out a rental application, and if i am a convicted felon, I could not reside with the primary tenant! Is this legal? Can this be some sort of dicrimination?
