Legal Question in Family Law in Netherlands

International Fight

I am currently involved in a divorce/custody battle in the Netherlands. I am residing in New York with my child and have provisionary custody under dutch law. I am trying to get the custody fight back in New York since that is where my child and I reside. Could you please advise to the best possible way to do so? I have an attorney in Holland, but I would like another a opinion.

Re: International Fight

The information you have provided is insufficient to give an answer. How long have you and the child lived in New York State? What is the provisional order granted in the Netherlands? Exactly how is the order worded, in English? Has the Dutch court explicitly retained jurisdiction?

These are just a few of the questions that have to be explored before an answer is given.
