Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada

what constitutes filing a fradulent police report?

A man who has been harrassing me of late called the police department and reported that he was my psychotherapist (he is not) and that he thought I was suicidal. I was able to convince the police that I am not, but I want to know if he can get in trouble for making this claim falsely, and if so, how?

It may be difficult to sue him for defamation because this is more of an opinion. However, the District Attorney could prosecute him for filing a false police report by pretending he is a psychotherapist. If he continues to bother you you could probably file a lawsuit against him for invasion of privacy.
