Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada

probation violation

I was put on probation for one year back in Jan 2006 for possession of credit card without card holders consent. At that point and also currently had never been in any trouble before. Basically a clean record with only traffic tickets. When I went to my visit at the probation office they put me on mail in reporting. Which means I I report to the office once every 3 months and mail in my monthly reports and payment the other months. This is probley going to sound stupid on my part but heres what happened...When it came to April 2006 that was the month I had to go back and report in person, I didn't have the money to pay for 3 months because I never paid the prior 2 months and I didn't do any of my community service, so I basically got scared of going and them locking me up, so I didn't report in. Now of course I have an active warrent and I have had it since about June 2006 for probation violation. Is there anything I can do to avoid jail time and take care of this warrent?

Re: probation violation

Have an attorney file a motion to quash the bench warrant. You will probably have to have a probation revocation hearing, but a good attorney and your cooperation will result in a reinstatement of probation or a dishonerable discharge.
