Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

divorce settlement case

If I sign the final papers today and close my 2 year long -drug out divorce- can I go to a different attorney for a better settlement? I feel I have been misrepresented.

Thank you.

Re: divorce settlement case

Generally speaking, you will not be able to change your mind after you sign (and if you have already agreed to the papers you may not even have to sign). The standard for setting aside a judgment like a divorce decree is very high and the court will take a dim view of any attempt to alter a decree after you have signed off on the terms.
