Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

I am in receipt of divorce documents. I have been reside in California since 6/6/09 with my two children. I moved from Nevada. My husband filed and served me with divorce documents by mail. I now have custody issues as he is requesting that the children be returned to him.

We have been separated for 51/2 years and up until 2/09 he was supporting us. Since he stopped supporting us and me with no employment or family we moved to CA. with my family. Currently I am on public assistance and work part time. My income is very limited Clark County NV can not help me as I am no longer a resident and CA legal Aid can not help me as I have not been a resident of CA long enough 6 month or more.

If I could get some direction it will be greatly appreciated.

Jeffrey Cogan Jeffrey A. Cogan, Esq., Ltd.

You need to respond to the lawsuit or you will lose your children. I would charge five thousand dollars to represent you and we would get reimbursed from your husband. If you cannot do that, you might be able to find a new lawyer who will do it waiting to collect the attorney's fees back from your husband. Finally, you might be able to use the Clark County Self Help Center. Lawguru deletes the web address so you can get their by Google.
