Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nevada

joint lease with only one signature

We rented a home in NV for 9 months, at the end of the first lease we renewed for another 7 months. The Landlord didn't draw up a new contract but printed up an addendum and only one of us signed. Is this lease valid or can I move out earlier?

Re: joint lease with only one signature

The lease is probably valid if you signed the original and continued to live there after your roommate signed the addendum. If the addendum is for more than 1 year you can get out of it on the statute of frauds, Otherwise your roommate will be deemed your agent to agree to the addendum.
