Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nevada

Real Estate

I was going through a divorce when my wife passed away. The house that she resided in has her and my name on the title but only hers on the loan. The house is upside down about $80000. Am I responsible for that debt? If they forclose on the house, will that affect my credit even though she was going to get sole ownership in the divorce?

Re: Real Estate

No, it should not affect your credit at all but the lender may improperly report it to the credit bureaus. You would have a case for slander if they do and you can probably get it off your report with a letter to them explaining the mistake.
