They can foreclose as quickly as a month in NH if you're in default on your mortgage, but it's not unusual for people to stay in there home for several months after they stop paying a mortgage, sometimes longer. Bankruptcy does extend the deadline somewhat because they have to get the permission of the bankruptcy court before foreclosing. Also, loan modification requests sometime buy people more time in their home. The real answer depends on future events and varies by situation and where you are in the process.
