Legal Question in Family Law in New Hampshire

Joint custody

My wife and I are divorcing in New Hampshire. We are going to have joint custody. IS there a formula to use to figure out how much support I will have to pay?

Re: Joint custody

New Hampshire does not use "joint custody" when dealing with the care of children. You should review the court forms for a Parenting Plan so that shared rights and responsibilities may be agreed.

Child support calculations start with a guildeline amount. There are items specified in the statutes which may give rise to an adjustment. Start by looking at http://www.dhhs.state.nh.us/DHHS/DCSS/LIBRARY/Form/cs-guidelines.htm

As always, there are many issues which may be overlooked in the process of completing a divorce. I suggest that you should consult with an attorney who can fully review your personal circumstances and provide advice as to the appropriate way to handle child support and the settlement documents.
