Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Hampshire

What do you have to do to buy someone out on a mortgage? He was only in the home 4 years and was removed. I have been there a total of 8 years and for the past 4 years i have been the only one paying the mortgage and upkeep on home. He has paid nothing. I would like to know what to do to buy him out and get him off the deed and loan.

Most likely you are jointly and severally liable for the debt. That means each of you owes the entire amount and if one does not pay his share, the Bank does not care as long as they get their money. Unless the lender agrees to let him off the obligation/mortgage or you can get the bank to allow a substitute, there is not much that can be done.
