Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in New Jersey

39:4-94.2b

Hello.A few days ago I was going back to my home and there was a traffic. I saw that the was work on the road and the car were continue driving passing a line. I was right behind them and when I change the line a noticed that I am passing police barricade (no info about alternative way of driving,no lights etc, just plain barricade on one line). Right away my car i a few other driver had been stoped by a police and we were given a ticket. LAter on polcie posted sign ''all traffic left'' on the barricade. I was told by a polce that the will give me a break and they will give me a tocket for a reckless driving. Nevertheless, when I went to pay my ticket I was told that a Police officer made a mistake and he gave me a ticket for a driving on a closing part of a road. What are the different way of defense? what kind of penalty can I expected? I heard it is 4 points for something like that?
