Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New Jersey

Judgement under divoice

A civil lawsuit has been filed against me weeks ago. My wife and I have been discussing about getting divoice for months. With the possibility of huge monetary judgement against me, we are talking about getting divoice now. The question is that will my wife's part of the family asset be safe from the potential monetary judgement claim?

You have been sued for a lot of money.

You are getting a divorce.

Please go see a lawyer. Nothing that I or any other attorney can tell you over this computer bulletin board will help you. Get a lawyer. Today. Right now.

This is not a question that I could answer over this computer bulletin board. And this could be important for you. I suggest that you do need to talk to a lawyer about this, and get some solid advice.
