Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

Since August of 2009 I was locked out of my business by my business partner in the state of NJ. In January I finally went to court only to have the judge say he could not see the case at the time and allowed my partner to continue the business to keep it afloat with the stipulation that he turn in each week what goes in and out of the business. As of a week ago he fired his lawyer and sent a copy of a paper he mailed to the UEZ and taxation Dept. stating that as of past January he would not pay taxes as he did not do any business. But yet I have papers in his writing stating otherwise. The business was made with 49,000. of my money as we were to be married this past October. Due to domestic problems and infidelity I had him leave my home. My lawyer is at this time on a murder case and told me he would not be available until the end of the summer. I have all the paper work to prove his tax fraud and all reciepts from business start up. Please advise me on what I should do as the Landlord will not answer my phone calls and the court system is failing me.

You need to find a way to get the information that you have back in front of the judge who required the accounting. If your current lawyer is too busy to handle the case for you, perhaps he or she will recommend someone else to handle the matter. See also: http://info.corbettlaw.net/lawguru.htm

I agree with Mr. Corbett. The Court system is failing you because your attorney cannot help you. Its tough to be solo and once in a while, something like this could happen. My only complaint about your attorney is that he should have a back up plan. You could either fire him and get a new attorney or get a second attorney to work with the two of you. Putting everything else aside, it sounds like you need to handle this tax situation right away.
