Can a landlord lockout a business owner out of their own business for being 20 days late on rent? The business is in Passaic NJ

big problems. you need a lawyer right away. if you are locked out, your customers will go away and you will be out of business even if the landlord has no legal right to do this.

As H.L. Mencken said, �For every problem there is a solution that is simple, neat and wrong.� There is some case law which suggests that a commercial landlord may unilaterally reclaim possession of leased premises from a nonpaying tenant, even without resort to the courts.
