As a Franchise Attorney I recommend sending him a final demand stating if the money is not paid in full by XXXXX, then you will have no choice but to sue him. This looks like a case for small claims court and they have advisers there who can help you with the paperwork, etc. Next time, get at least half as a deposit, with another 40% on the day of the wedding, then the 10% balance due within 30 days of the wedding. People will happily pay the 90% when they're in that good, getting married, spirit. Also have a written contract and include an attorneys fee clause. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.

You call me. I send a letter demanding payment. He does not pay, I sue him for you. And maybe file criminal charges, if possible (depends on the situation, let me talk it over with you).

It is not a lot of money, but this is wrong. Give me a call.
