What amount of time is considered contractor job abandonment in New Jersey? Is it 30 days with no work being done?

That depends. What does the contract say? What work was being done? Have they responded to calls and demands they return? How much/what percentage were they paid? Is it residential or commercial work? Is it work impacted by the weather? If you have not heard from them in 30 days, call once more, and mail them a letter telling them they are in breach for not returning to complete their work, and givee them 3 days to get back to you and advise you in writing what they are going to do when to finish their work, or you are hiring others to finish the work, and rerporting them to all appropriate authorities, and contacting their insurance company.
