Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

I applied for a loan online and never received the money. I gave them my debit card info so they can wire the money but they said it had to be a bank account. Now they keep calling me saying the money was wired onto my debit card and its not there. They say I am being sued, but will not tell me where do I have to go to court at. They are harassing me and threatning me. What should I do? Do I need a lawyer. Help please

Yes, it sounds like you need a lawyer to help sort this out. It can be proven by one party or the other that the money was sent and delivered and the lawyer can more firmly demand that proof from them. Once the facts are straight, that should naturally help to resolve the legal issues. When a lawyer gets involved, he/she can also contact them about not calling you anymore, but only communicating with the attorney until its resolved.

Generally, when you are sued, you must receive service in some way, i.e., a process server handing it to you, a court letter, etc. If you moved since you dealt with them, it is possible they have started a suit and marked you as served by sending it certified to the last know address. This is another question that an experienced attorney can help get answered as well as help to get copies of anything that has been filed against you in Court.

Best of luck.
