Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

garnishment on joint account

My wife had a debt before we got married and recently our joint bank account was wiped due to judement related to this debt. She has not worked in the past year. What legal right do I have since all of the money is coming from paycheck and I am not part of this. What recourse do I have.

The metadata with your question indicates that you are are located in GA. If the account that was levied upon is in a GA bank, you should rewrite your question to indicate that it applies to GA law. It is the law of the State in which the levied property is located that governs the levy.
