Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

I recieved a letter from a law firm suing me for a credit card debit. The letter states that the credit card was opened in 2006 with Citibank. The law firm is requesting interogaties and I am hesistant to respond as it can incriminate me. I checked my credit report and the debt is not listed on my report. I do not recall this debt however, i opened credits cards in college and I am not sure if this debt is mine or not. I've reached out to Citibank to confirm the debt but it does not come up in their system. Should i respond to the integotories? Should i obtain a lawyer?

I was a collections lawyer for ...since 1987 or so...then for about ten years i have been fighting collections lawyers....

if you want to fight them, you will have to answer the interrogatories, and there are a lot more steps to the legal process. call if you like.
