Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

i was assaulted by a man whos brother in law is a councelman in my town. the judge is sending it to another court in a different town. is this legal. how does polotics come into play on and assault charge?

The judge did the right thing. He was appointed by the mayor and council of the town so that it might appear that he were under their influence in presiding over your case. He did you a favor.
