Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

What can happen in court if charged with 2C:33-4A specifically calling & texting in a threatening manner ? Domestic Violence-Confidential box is checked on complaint summons. Complainant is my brother & I never commited such an offense & there is no proof I did. I have to go to Freehold Borough Municipal Court tomorrow & I am worried. Can they arrest me for this charge?

For any criminal code charge there is a possibility of jail if you are found guilty, especially if it is a domestic violence matter. My advice is to plead Not Guilty when you go to court tomorrow and then ask the judge for an adjournment so you can hire a lawyer. Please contact my office for a free consultation as soon as possible to discuss how I can assist you. Thank you.

Ask the judge for an adjournment to get an attorney.

That should not be a problem.

Then get a lawyer familiar with this type of proceeding.

You are welcome to call me for a free discussion. 215-732-4000
