Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Company Check Returned but making good on it.

i have wrote company check to the supplier which was returned nsf but i am making good on by paying weekly, but this sales man keeps thretning me that he is going to have me arrested by filing criminal report, what is my defense in this case i am making good on my part by paying him on a weekly basis to take care of this returned check, this happened due to the business being very slow.

If you should have known the check was drawn on insufficient funds and you have failed to make the check good within a reasonable time following demand that you do so there is no real defense. Your good faith effort to make reasonable installment payment may be the basis of making an arrangement with the prosecutor to dismiss a criminal complaint filed against you.

You must pay the amount 30 days from the date the check bounced or he has every right to file charges.
