Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Is it possible in NJ to get a 3 yrs jail sentence changed to a home confinement sentence so you can work and support you family - the charge is theft by deception, but full restitution has been offered as part of the home confinement offer ? Any help is appreciated.

It may be possible. It all depends on all the facts and circumstances of the case and whether the sentence has already been imposed or how long it has been since the sentence was imposed. I need more information.

Call me if you like.

The law says you can file a motion to modify a jail sentence to some form of home confinement for medical reasons. Getting out of jail so you can go to work is not a valid reason for modifying a custodial sentence.

I would need more info. HC doesn't really occur with State crimes but there may be options.
